The Name

No one really prepares you for how stressful it can be to select a name for your new business. It’s like naming a baby (more about babies later). You want it to be exactly right. In French, “avant” means innovative. Think of the term “avant-garde.” That’s exactly what we are at Avant Concierge Urology. We’ve been innovators and explorers since the very youngest of ages. Our curiosity was sparked by how to do things better, how to be more effective and efficient. And Avant Concierge Urology was founded with those motivations front-and-center. 

The People

Led by Dr. Sijo Parekattil (also known as “Dr. P”), world-renowned for the thousands of successful microsurgical procedures he has performed during his career, Avant Concierge Urology specializes in the treatment of conditions related to the kidneys, urinary bladder, prostate, urethra, and male reproductive organs. Dr. Parekattil has long been considered a pioneer in the field of urologic microsurgery. He is one of the founding board members of the Robotic Assisted Microsurgical & Endoscopic Society (RAMSES), an international organization in which he is still heavily involved. He has received numerous awards including two Annual Innovator Awards from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as well as the Golden Garland Award in Medicine. And he knows the critical importance of assembling a team that puts the patient and the patient experience above everything else. The Tech

Among the many technological advances offered at Avant Concierge Urology, the clinic is the first in the U.S. to bring the KARL STORZ Endoscopy VITOM® exoscopic camera system to a stand-alone urology clinic and surgery center. The VITOM® will replace a traditional microscope, allowing the Avant medical team to use a 3-D magnified 4K image to see essential details as they perform a procedure.
