Dr. Sijo J. Parekattil
Dr. Sijo J. Parekattil serves as the Medical Director of Avant Concierge Urology, based in Central Florida. Prior to his medical training, he was an Electrical Engineer (University of Michigan) and thus has always gravitated toward surgical techniques incorporating the latest in technology, robotics, and microsurgery. He completed his urology residency training at Albany Medical Center in New York, before going on to complete dual-fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation (Cleveland, OH) in Laparoscopy/Robotic Surgery and Microsurgery/Male Infertility.
Dr. Parekattil has received numerous awards including two Annual Innovator Awards from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as well as the Golden Garland Award in Medicine. He has published many articles in the field of robotic microsurgery and has also authored three textbooks on Male Infertility as well as a textbook on Robotic Microsurgery. He has performed pioneering work in the arena of robotic microsurgery, having currently performed over 1,000 such procedures. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Zambia, Lusaka, Africa.
Dr. Parekattil is one of the founding Board members of the Robotic Assisted Microsurgical & Endoscopic Society (RAMSES). He holds active membership in the American Society of Andrology, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the American Urologic Association, and the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction. He serves on the Executive Board for the Florida Urological Society and the Foundation Board for Florida Polytechnic University.
